Fastener production line

FAQ

Q: What types of fasteners can your production lines manufacture?

Our lines cover a full range of standard and custom fasteners: self-drilling screws, self-tapping screws, machine screws, wood screws, drywall screws, chipboard screws, roofing screws, deck screws, shoulder screws, coupling nuts, flange nuts, nylon insert nuts, square nuts, cap nuts, blind rivets, threaded rods, concrete anchors, washers (spring/plain), retaining rings/circlips, U-bolts, hose clamps, nails, staples, and non-standard special parts. Each line is configured to the specific head style, thread type, and material grade required.

Q: What is the typical production flow for a screw line?

Wire drawing ↙ cold heading (multi-stie) ↙ thread rolling ↙ heat treatment (carburize/quench/temper or anneal as required) ↙ surface finishing (zinc plating, black oxide, Dacromet, etc.) ↙ inspection (dimensional check, thread gauge, tensile test) ↙ packing. Optional stages include drill-point forming, slot/Phillips/hex recess stamping, and optical sorting.

Q: What machine specifications do you offer?

Cold heading speeds: 100每550 pcs/min depending on diameter and length. Thread rolling speeds: 150每800 pcs/min. Optical sorters: 200每800 pcs/min. Wire drawing range: 1.0每10.5 mm. We cover M1.0 to M10 full range with corresponding tooling. Multi-station headers available from 3-station to 7-station configurations.

Q: Can you customize the line for my product mix?

Yes. We configure each line based on your product portfolio 〞 head types (hex, pan, flat, hex socket, set), drive types (Phillips, slotted, Torx, hex), thread standards (DIN, ISO, ANSI, JIS, GB), and materials (carbon steel, stainless steel 304/316, brass, aluminum). We also advise on tooling changeover time and batch size optimization.

Q: What about quality control and inspection equipment?

Each line includes inline gauges for head height, shank diameter, and thread pitch. Post-heat-treatment inspection covers hardness (HRC), tensile strength, and torsional test. Optional add-ons: vision inspection systems for surface defects, optical sorters for length/head/drive detection, and full lab test reports (tensile, salt spray, torque-tension).

Q: Do you provide installation, commissioning, and training?

Yes. We supply full installation drawings, utility layouts, and operation manuals. Engineers can be dispatched for on-site installation supervision, commissioning, and operator training. Remote video support is available for routine troubleshooting. Spare parts packages are recommended for the first 12 months of operation.

Q: What are your typical lead times and export support?

Standard lines: 45每60 days. Custom-configured lines: 60每90 days. We handle export packing (wooden crates, anti-rust wrapping), full documentation (commercial invoice, packing list, certificate of origin, CE if required), and can work on FOB, CFR, or CIF terms. Sea freight to major ports worldwide.

Q: How do I choose between a dedicated line and a flexible line?

Dedicated lines maximize output for a single product type (e.g., only M6℅20 hex head screws) 〞 best for high-volume, stable orders. Flexible lines handle multiple SKUs with quick changeover 〞 better for diverse catalogs or contract manufacturing. We help you analyze your order profile (volume per SKU, frequency of changeover) to recommend the right balance.

Q: What after-sales service do you provide?

12-month warranty on mechanical parts, lifetime technical support. We stock critical spare parts and can air-ship urgent items. Annual maintenance checklists, remote diagnostics via photo/video, and scheduled engineer visits for major overhauls. Software/firmware updates for control systems included.

Q: Can you integrate Industry 4.0 features?

Optional. We offer PLC-based line control with HMI touchscreen, production data logging (pieces/hour, downtime, reject rate), remote monitoring via Ethernet/4G, and integration with your MES/ERP system. Energy consumption monitoring and predictive maintenance alerts available on request.

Q: What are the most common mistakes to avoid when setting up a fastener line?

Undersizing the wire drawing capacity (bottleneck upstream), mismatching thread rolling speed to heading speed (buffer pile-up), skipping heat treatment validation (inconsistent hardness), and not planning for tooling inventory (downtime waiting for punches/dies). We provide a pre-installation checklist to help you avoid these.
