Q: What is included in your Industrial Enclosure package?
Our integrated envelope covers nine systems: Wall System, Roof System, Floor System, Skylight System, Ventilation System, Drainage System, Opening System, Sealing & Weatherproofing System, and Insulation & Vapor Barrier. We supply the full envelope as one coordinated package, or individual systems to match your scope.
Q: Which wall panel cores do you offer?
PIR (polyisocyanurate, 竹>0.022 W/m﹞K, best thermal performance), rockwool (A1 non-combustible, best fire and acoustic performance, Rw 32每45 dB), and EPS (most economical). Panel thickness 50每200 mm, width 1,000每1,200 mm, lengths up to 12 m. Joint options: tongue-and-groove, standing seam, or secret-fix.
Q: What roof system do you recommend for extreme weather?
A 360∼ double-lock standing-seam metal roof with concealed sliding clips 〞 no exposed fasteners, free thermal movement to prevent buckling and oil-canning, and deep-rib drainage for heavy rain. For long spans we roll-form on site from ridge to eave to minimize cross-lap joints. Paired with PIR/rockwool sandwich wall panels for a continuous thermal envelope.
Q: Can your enclosure handle heavy industrial floor loads?
Yes. We design floor slabs 6每8 in. (150每200 mm) at 4,000每5,000 PSI with reinforced rebar or post-tensioning for 250每500+ PSF live loads 〞 forklifts, racking, and heavy equipment. Slab design is confirmed by a licensed structural engineer per local code; we supply the engineered shop drawings.
Q: How much daylight can skylights provide?
Polycarbonate and glass skylights deliver 70每80% VLT with 100% diffusion, cutting daytime artificial lighting load. Options include fire-rated polycarbonate-over-glass (CC1/WUI compliant), impact and hail resistance (UL 972, Class IV), and aluminum curbs with 50-year silicone seals. We size skylight area to 5每15% of floor area as a rule of thumb.
Q: Natural ventilation or mechanical 〞 which should I choose?
Use natural (ridge vents, turbine ventilators) where heat load and stack height give 40每120 Pa of buoyancy pressure. For heat loads above ~10∼C stratification or strict air-change targets, use axial/centrifugal mechanical exhaust at 100每250 Pa static, sized for 8每15 air changes per hour with N+1 redundancy. We calculate both and recommend the mix.
Q: How do you prevent roof ponding and overflow?
Primary drains/scuppers sized to the design storm, plus mandatory secondary (emergency overflow) scuppers set 2∪每4∪ above the primary crest 〞 required wherever parapets can entrap water. Minimum two scuppers per drainage area, each sized at 2℅ required capacity for blockage and wind-driven rain. Roof slope and tapered insulation direct water to outlets.
Q: Sectional door or roller shutter 〞 which is right?
Sectional doors: better insulation and perimeter sealing, needs interior overhead track space 〞 best for loading docks and temperature-controlled bays. Roller shutters: compact coil above opening, minimal interior ceiling space, security-focused 〞 best for exterior access and high-security openings. Both can be motorized; we also supply personnel doors, windows, louvers, and fire-rated openings.
Q: How do you stop air and water leakage at the envelope?
A continuous air barrier (sheet-applied, self-adhered, or liquid-applied membrane) with taped laps, sealed penetrations, and compatible sealants at every joint 〞 doors, vents, conduits, fasteners. We target ≒0.02 L/s﹞m2 air leakage at 75 Pa (CAN/ULC-S741). All openings, flashing, and panel joints are detailed as one system, not separate trades.
Q: Where does the vapor barrier go 〞 and why does it matter?
Always on the warm side of the insulation for conditioned buildings; for cold storage the rule inverts (barrier on the exterior). Use one continuous retarder 〞 never sandwich insulation between two barriers, or the cavity can't dry out and will mold or ice up within a season. Classes: I (≒0.1 perm, foil/PE), II (0.1每1.0 perm, kraft-faced), III (1每10 perm). We pair it with ventilation sized to interior moisture load.
Q: What thermal performance can we achieve?
U-value from 0.20 W/m2﹞K (100 mm PIR) down to ~0.10 with thicker or hybrid cores. R-value depends on core thickness and climate zone. We provide certified 竹-values and condensation-risk analysis so the envelope performs in your specific climate, not just on paper.
Q: What lead times and export support do you provide?
Standard panels: 3每5 weeks. Custom lengths, stainless skins, or special fire-rated builds: 5每7 weeks. We export by sea with full documentation 〞 material certificates, fire/thermal test reports, installation manuals, and signed-off shop drawings. Prototype or single-bay orders are accepted.
Q: What are the most common enclosure mistakes to avoid?
Buying panels on price without checking the core's fire class; ignoring thermal bridging at joints; putting the vapor barrier on the wrong side; skimping on secondary drainage; and treating sealing as a separate trade. Get the envelope engineered as one system 〞 that's where the real long-term savings are.
